Description
Sechura Coast Weave is born from one of the world's most dramatic landscapes — where the bone-dry Sechura Desert meets the cold swells of the Pacific. Hand spun and hand woven by descendants of the Chimu people of coastal Peru, this textile carries forward a tradition of over a thousand years. Woven entirely from rare Peruvian heirloom cotton varieties, no dyes have ever touched it — the warm brown field and ivory borders are the cotton's own colors, grown from ancient seed. Two bands of stylized fish flow down the cloth, a motif drawn directly from Chimu visual tradition. This is not a reproduction. It is a living continuation.
