The hummingbird has long been a symbol of sun, water, and fertility in indigenous Colombian cultures. The country boasts over 150 species of hummingbirds, and is the most biodiverse country on the planet when it comes to bird species - it’s no wonder that hummingbirds are frequently a subject of Colombian art.
