San Augustin Jewelry Box

Exquisitely detailed jewelry boxes depicting the the ancient megaliths of San Augustin. These boxes take days to decorate, with patterns carefully cut out of Mopa-Mopa varnish and layered onto a hand carved wooden box. The original meaning of these characters is a mystery to archeologists and locals alike, but they have inspired artisans for centuries.
